Your Rhythms: Listen Closely
Just two months ago a new retail business opened in my neighborhood. The space was very well designed, the product was needed, I loved the name and the presentation. Finally found time to stop by, did some purchases, and, although the energy felt a bit strange, I definitely planned to come back for more, as I liked their product. When I came back, though, there were closed. Then closed again the next day. Recently I drove by and realized they closed for good.

What went wrong? Why did they give up so soon? And what was the quality of energy that I picked up while shopping in their store? To put it simply, it was lack of enthusiasm and stillness. Visually, the store looked trendy and had quite expensive decor accessories; but the essence, or the main drive, was not there.
Feng Shui is all about energy, and about harnessing the highest, most vital quality of it in order to benefit your life. In other words, it is about attuning yourself/your space to the natural rhythms and knowing how to benefit from them. Your rhythms maybe low for a while, and this is OK, it is even needed to replenish your energy after a high period - look at the nature rhythms and learn from it. What should never be low, though, is your focus, or determination and intent to make things happen.

Ultimately, it is the variety of rhythms that makes beautiful songs happen, and being comfortable with the low points is a sure sign of approaching the high wave of success. ::

The Feng Shui Blog
It was an experience that really taught me patience and trust. I am very happy with the results - being the feng shui writer for about.com, a New York Times company, is great for many, many reasons (including a regular paycheck!) but getting there required a lot of hard work and patience.

The site just came live last week, do check it out - www.fengshui.about.com - I will be updating the blog at least once a week, as well as constantly adding new content to the feng shui site, info varying from feng shui basics to different uses of feng shui.
Thank you for your loyalty and readership!

Re-vive your office with ART
If you have wall space in your office for just one piece of art (although I am sure you have more than that!) this should be it. Why?

Because it brings such high, vibrant, very potent energy that is missing in way too many business spaces. It also makes you breathe deeper and connect to the inner adventurer/brave conqueror in you.

Water with foam is a powerful feng shui cure and the best place to hang this framed art print is either North or East.

Do not have it on the wall behind your back or in the South area of your space.

"Since time was of the essence, I think the phone consultation was great, since we couldn't meet in Vancouver. The consultation helped me fill in the gaps and make some changes which were necessary and I think will be beneficial to my client. I will definitely work with you again in the future.
Thank you again."
