| Just two months ago a new retail business opened in my neighborhood. The space was very well designed, the product was needed, I loved the name and the presentation. Finally found time to stop by, did some purchases, and, although the energy felt a bit strange, I definitely planned to come back for more, as I liked their product. When I came back, though, there were closed. Then closed again the next day. Recently I drove by and realized they closed for good. What went wrong? Why did they give up so soon? And what was the quality of energy that I picked up while shopping in their store? To put it simply, it was lack of enthusiasm and stillness. Visually, the store looked trendy and had quite expensive decor accessories; but the essence, or the main drive, was not there. |

| Feng Shui is all about energy, and about harnessing the highest, most vital quality of it in order to benefit your life. In other words, it is about attuning yourself/your space to the natural rhythms and knowing how to benefit from them. Your rhythms maybe low for a while, and this is OK, it is even needed to replenish your energy after a high period - look at the nature rhythms and learn from it. What should never be low, though, is your focus, or determination and intent to make things happen. | It was an experience that really taught me patience and trust. I am very happy with the results - being the feng shui writer for about.com, a New York Times company, is great for many, many reasons (including a regular paycheck!) but getting there required a lot of hard work and patience.
