THE MEANING OF HOME

Cold days make us realize the true meaning of home as a shelter - not just from rain or storms, but also from the overpowering influences of the "outside" world. A home is a place to heal, renew and get back to who we really are and to what really matters.

Speaking of new, the Chinese New Year starts on February 9. It is the year of the Wood Rooster and it may be a difficult year as it is dominated by two clashing elements - Wood and Metal.

To create a more harmonious environment for this year, do focus on stimulating growth in your house (this is especially important in 2005). Make your home comfortable and beautiful, keep it clean, find a way to let in lots of natural light and clean air. Diffuse healing essential oils into the air. Take care of your health and you will feel the positive energy grow much stronger around you.

De-clutter your closets, get rid of what is no longer needed; move the garbage cans and recycling bins away from the main door area; bring light into dark, narrow spaces. Stay focused on basics and be sure they become routine for you before going into more advanced applications of feng shui.

The main area to be cautious of in 2005 is the North West - there should be no construction/digging/remodeling etc in this part of your home; keep it quiet this year as it directly relates to the health of the men in the house. East and SouthEast should be "watched closely", too.

I receive many questions as to how one will know if their house is right for them and what to look for when buying one. See the article "Is my home right for me?" for basics.

The main energy You and Your House need at all times is Love, and it all does start in the Bedroom... Check the article "Make Room for Love" and do make room for it! It really is all that matters.

Wishing you Love and a Prosperous New Year,

Rodika

ASK THE FENG SHUI CONSULTANT:

Question:

Dear Rodika, I have been studying Feng Shui for the last three years in particular the Xuan Kong and Flying Stars. Somehow I find it that something was missing. I have just read your articles on the web which I find excellent. I think that they will help me a lot in my understanding of myself and my life. What do you think about whether to put a water feature or any other element cure (metal...) here or there according to the Flying Star natal chart of a house and/or according to the annual Flying Star? Is is that absolute? I would appreciate tremendously your opinion.

I have a home-based business that I would like to see grow and bring profits. According to the house I was supposed to put my water outside the house in the SE. However in 2006 it is not good to have water in the SE. I have been told by my practitioner that in my case water should remain. It seems to me that there are some contradiction in all that. I felt very refreshed when I read some of your articles. I look forward to hearing from you. With my best wishes. (Name Undisclosed)

Answer:

Hello: My answer will be very general, as I do not know your data or your house. If you had a consultant in your home, I would trust her advice, or ask her (him) for clarifications.

This year South East (The Wealth and Prosperity Gua) does have a “guest” – the argumentative star 3, so it is recommended to add fire element there, like color red, or a bright light, triangular crystal, etc. I would be careful, though, with not overdoing it, as the element of the SE is Wood, and you do not want to burn it with Fire. Just keep it balanced.

SE is the area related to Abundance and there can be no Abundance in Nature without Water - so it all comes to how you represent it in your environment. Yes, this year you should not have too much water in the SE, so, if the water feature you have is quite strong/big, I think it will be safer to place it for 2005 in the North, the gua of Career and Path in Life.

However, what is very important is to achieve a strong, balanced, vibrant flow of Chi in your environment that works for you and your business. People are drawn to vibrant/strong/healing energy. Open up the flow to the main door, as the main door is the mouth of Chi. Create a healthy/happy space for you and your loved ones, so that your own energy field is strong, this way you will open up space to create many beautiful business opportunities for you.

Good Luck to you and Many Blessings!

Rodika
