Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world. " (Tom Brokaw)

Ask every successful business person about the importance of projecting the right image and you will hear a definite "Yes, of course!" We do know that EVERYTHING communicates a message, but somehow the term "EVERYTHING" does not really include "EVERYTHING!" Do you have a full wastebasket in open view, right below your certifications, licenses or diplomas? Or even worse, near the water fountain? Does opening the main door of your business strengthen the muscles of both clients and employees? Or maybe the first impression of your office makes you want to escape for an immediate (and extended) coffee break? Feng shui is about the energy that surrounds us (and everything IS energy, as we all know from physics) The energy is manifested in a myriad of forms, perceived by humans as colors, shapes, smells, forms, textures, etc. The way you interact with it influences your well-being, effectiveness, success and general level of satisfaction with life. Would you trust a doctor really cares about your well-being when his office has stale air recycled from a couple years ago? Or an accountant whose desk is covered up with an overwhelming number of files that make you wonder where yours would end up if you do hire her? Today, take an honest look at your office and see if there is anything you can change right away. Move some furniture pieces around, let more light in, re-arrange the reception area or the employee's lounge; bring some fresh vibrant art and new plants. Re-paint a wall. Notice how your own energy levels change when you start doing it. By taking active interest and participation in the health of your business environment, the energy of it will take good care of you. I promise. Till you hear from me again, enjoy the Spring and let yourself be filled with renewed, empowering energy. Just think of the possibilities! Rodika |

Question: "I have recently started working from home and want to create my home office in the best way. I am excited, but also nervous, and need all the help from feng shui cures to get my business going! I have placed quite a few feng shui items in several areas of my desk, but am not sure if they really do help. Please let me know your opinion. Thank you very much! Vivien L., Culver City, USA" Answer: Dear Vivien: Focus on your whole office space, not just your desk. In order to create a successful home office, you need to feel inspired when you come into the space and want to spend more time there. It also needs to be healthy (fresh air, plenty of natural or full spectrum light, etc) to keep your energy levels high; as well as well-organized so you do not loose you enthusiasm when things don't go as planned. Regarding the feng shui items on your desk, I would suggest you remove them all and leave only what you absolutely need on your desk in order to do business (the less, the better). The best feng shui cure to have on one's desk would be a medium-size quartz crystal - either faceted, or a cluster, or a tumbled one, whichever form speaks to you the most. The crystal will lower the EMF fields, bring true beauty from nature, as well as look appropriate for an office (can be used either as a paper weight or a small natural sculpture.) You can also make sure you are facing one of your auspicious directions for business, which can be calculated based on the kua formula. First and foremost, though, make sure your office space really works for you and expresses the business you are in. Good luck!
