More Peace of Mind

RECENT TESTIMONIAL:
"I loved the consultation with you; it was so encouraging to see that changes in my office could be made so quickly! I have bought some baskets and a task lamp, and am hunting for the other things you mentioned. Once I make some progress, I'd love to have you come back again and see what further steps I can take." (C. Parsons, Director of Student Services, UBC Faculty of Forestry)

THINK ABOUT IT
"The way the world works now you can't claim to make sense of the exterior without booking voyages into the interior." (Seth Godin, et al "The Big Moo")

Marketing U

All marketing definitions aside, when it comes down to basics, marketing is the way you present your business in images/colors/words/associations, etc. In other words, it is the quality of energy you use to convey your identity. Your website speaks of your energy, your print materials, your business environment, the colors you use in the logo design, etc, etc. Your potential customers will connect to you, first and foremost, on a subconscious, as well as emotional level, which are often much stronger than all the facts and figures you might use to persuade them to do business with you.

How good are you at being clear and successful with your marketing efforts? Does your marketing work for you? Do you know the image you are projecting? Whether aware of it or not, you can do considerably better when conscious of the energy/messages you are sending out with your marketing efforts. Here are some very basic feng shui guidelines to consider:

1. Use color strategically. Define and thoughtfully convey the energy you want people to feel about you/associate with you and your services and products. If you own a spa, you will do best by avoiding Yang/active/Fire colors (such as Red, Purple, or Orange); if you own a pizza place, you will definetely avoid Green, etc, etc. In marketing, colors and shapes are often more powerful in their impact than the words.

2.Your website is your 24/7 messenger that works either for or against you. Be aware of the flow of info on your site, as well as the WIIFMF ("What's In It For Me Factor"); do not waste users' precious time and maximize the chances of them coming back - be clear, concise and specific as to who you are and what you offer. Be very mindful of the images and colors you use, as well as, of course, the site navigation.

3. If you are in a business where clients come to see you (be it an office, showroom or retail store) be mindful of the message your environment is sending. Your business space is a very powerful marketing tool. If you are in the financial services industry, you better give a good sense of security with a high quality furniture, ample space, colors and images. And if you own a restaurant that you actively promote, but your washrooms are a nightmare and to get there I have to see all the ins and outs of a kitchen, consider your marketing money well-wasted. To develop trust from customers, you have to be consistent in your communication efforts on all levels (digital, print, and environmental.) This will translate into strengthening the energy of integrity, which is essential in establishing a successful business relationship.::

Drive Safely: Feng Shui for Your Car (cont'd)
Basic suggestions to keep in mind:
Keep the car as tidy as possible, to avoid clutter "sucking the life force out of the driver". Bluetooth and other wi-fi connections have a similar effect, so if you have to have them, the driver and passengers should drink regular quantities of water. Water is also excellent because of the energy it brings - clear, thoughtful, and flowing.
Sprinkling some sea salt on the carpet will absorb the negative energy, etc. One important point to consider when parking your car is to park it so that it faces away from the house, rather than pointing towards it. Curious? Click to read the complete report.

"Feng shui is about the way in which our environment affects our behaviour and our mood - be it a building or a car," says an Aon Private Clients representative. "If some of the information in our report helps drivers keep calm and alert, then we feel it’s a useful exercise. With road rage on the increase and our cities and motorways becoming ever more congested, maintaining a balanced state of mind becomes all the more difficult."

Totally agree! ::
